A player not listed on any franchise’s roster following the Initial Draft will be declared a free agent.
The league’s minimum salary requirement is $500,000 per year. The longest you may sign a player to contract at the league minimum is three years. The longest you can sign a player to a contract with an average annual salary of less than $1,000,000 per year is four years (more than $500,000 per year and less than $1,000,000 per year). The longest you can offer ANY contract is 6 years.
A GM can NOT make a contract offer to a player who has not signed a contract with a real life Major League franchise.
MiLB free agents cannot be bid on at any time. Any MiLB free agent who accrues an AB or IP can be signed using a signing bonus only. All unsigned MiLB FA's will go into the pool of draft eligible players for years end.
All free agent bids, including signing bonuses, must be in increments of $100,000. $100,000 signing bonus I fine, $170,000 is not. $1,000,000 salary is fine, $1,050,000 is not. Any bid made that does not meet this criteria will be considered void.
All international players, 25 y/o and older at the time they signed, will be subject to regular free agency rules (signed to a contract, not a bonus).
