This league will hold an initial league draft that will be 50 rounds long.
Any MLB or Milb player may be selected.
Prospects will be free. Any player that is at or over 50/150, but not yet signed to a real life free agent contract, would be considered a protected prospect if they meet our league protected prospect service time requirements. If a player is eligible for protected prospect status AND has also signed a real life contract, the drafting team may choose to take the PP contract or the real life contract. The drafting team must post contracts at the time any non prospect player is drafted - this includes PP contracts and real life contracts - this also includes the decision made if the player is eligible for PP and real life contract.
These draft picks will be tradable. Draft order TBD.
Any player that has already met or exceeded 50/150 limits, that is not drafted during the initial league draft, will be eligible for free agency. There will be an initial free agency period following the initial draft.
**Rule Addendum 4.1**
The maximum contract length in this league is 6 years for any player, under any circumstance. This means that if you draft a player during the initial league draft that has a contract longer than 6 years or said players signs a free agent contract longer than 6 years, you will have that player under contract terms for the next 6 years only.
**Rule Addendum 4.2**
This is more of a clarification. When selecting a PP player during the initial draft, you can opt to not take his PP(our contract) contract. If so, you get whatever his real life contract is or whatever contract he ends up signing for arb or to avoid arb. Please note, this only applies to PP players that have either signed real life contracts or are in Arbitration.
